OUR DESTINY
Marvão Castle and its medieval village are known for their history and conquests. Throughout the year it has special moments, with the main festival in November being the Chestnut Fair - Chestnut Festival, which during a weekend welcomes thousands of visitors who come to taste the new chestnuts from our chestnut groves and the wine from carving.
On the first weekend of October, the origin of Marvão is celebrated - Al Mossassa Islamic Festival , through the three cultures market and lots of entertainment. September is the month of pedro in the Municipality of Marvão, with a municipal holiday on September 8th. In July the Marvão International Classical Music Festival takes place, over 10 days let yourself be enchanted by the magic of classical music in idyllic places such as the Roman city of Ammaia and the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Estrela.
The municipality of Marvão is also a summer destination : on the River Sever you can enjoy corners by the river, the natural pool of the River Sever or the Apartadura Dam.
Throughout the year we participate in themed gastronomic fortnights such as olive oil and hunting .
